Costas food

Thanks to the generosity of a Greek couple that owns a local restaurant, a Syrian refugee computer student turned cook, and a couple of rotating CESRT volunteers, a hot, nutritious, and tasty vegan lunch gets delivered to CESRT and several other Chios volunteer organizations daily for up to 150 volunteers. CERST volunteers drive to the cook hut, chop vegetables, clean the pots and pans, label containers, and deliver the food. The cook learned his trade from his mother, and although he cooks a variety of dishes, the Syrian ones are the most loved.
